While we don’t require the girls to wear uniforms to every meeting, we do ask that every girl get a uniform. This gives girls a place to showcase their hard work and fun stuff they have been doing in Girl Scouts, and it also gives us a unified, cohesive look when we are out and about. Uniforms are preferred for field trips and parades, and you must wear a uniform when selling cookies.

You can purchase the uniform in person, or you can purchase it online. The local shop is located at the corner of Colorado and Florida in Denver. If you go in person, you can have someone help you get all the pieces that you need, and you know you will get it right then. If you buy online, you should do so ASAP because their orders get very backed up in September and October and take awhile to get here.

Uniform bits to get:

If the cost of the uniform is a hardship, you can fill out an opportunity grant, or you can talk to us and we can see about helping you out.

Stuff NOT to get:

  • The Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting – unless you are super interested in working on badges from home, you do not need this.
  • Any Journey books – we have not decided on a curriculum for this year, and when we do materials will come from troop funds.
  • The starter kit that they will try to sell you – it requires you buy a journey book and the Girl’s Guide, neither of which you need.
  • The Daisy petals or leaves – these are the badges for the Daisies and will be awarded to the girls as they earn them.

Stuff that’s up to you

This stuff is totally optional but it’s super adorable, so we’ll let you decide!
